Meaning Conferences organized by the International
Network on Personal Meaning (INPM) have established a reputation
for addressing significant, timely themes through bringing
together leading researchers and practitioners around the
world. For Meaning Conference 2000, the theme was "The
Quest for Meaning in a New Millennium"; for Meaning Conference
2002, the theme was "Freedom, Responsibility and Justice";
and for Meaning Conference 2004, the theme was "Transforming
Loss, Suffering and Death." The common thread of all
Meaning Conferences is the application of cutting-edge research
in psychology, psychotherapy, counselling, education and medicine
to urgent issues confronting the world.
Invited speakers at previous conferences
have included Dr. Irvin Yalom (Stanford), Dr. Howard Gardner
(Harvard), Dr. Donald Meichenbaum (University of Waterloo),
Dr. Jordan Peterson (University of Toronto), Dr.Arun Gandhi
from India, Dr. Chi Chieh-Fang (National Changhua University
of Education) and Dr. Harold Koenig (Duke University Medical
School).
